Wednesday night involved some amazing home made pizza and then rushing back from the DQ to ensure that only a fraction of the blizzards fell victim to the heat. We followed that combination with Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. Like a lot of the things from years past I forgot how much I enjoyed a good old movie.

One part stands out and, if you know the movie you probably know the part I am talking about considering my situation. Butch has got himself a bicycle, and the classic tune Raindrops Keep Fallin’ On My Head plays as he and Etta ride around the countryside in the bright sunshine.

Today I was doing the talking to the sun, telling him I didn’t like the way he got things done. But nonetheless rain continued to pour. It’s been two days now, and I can’t get that song out of my head. The lines “the blues they send to meet me, won’t defeat me, it won’t be long ’till happiness steps up to greet me” and “I’m never gonna stop the rain by complaining” are two of my favourites and they keep me carrying on.

Thanks B.J. Thomas for writing a simple song that I can whistle to myself over and over without getting sick of it – 200 kilometres at a time.
